  • Preserving a Tradition

Laurie Welty, President, Lincoln Valley Chamber of Commerce|Updated Jun 14, 2022

I was not at all surprised when results of the recent community survey showed overwhelmingly that Lincoln's annual Independence Day festivities were the favorite weekend/event(s) of the year. I was very surprised however to subsequently learn that a 20-year, full-time resident was unaware that our amazing annual fireworks display is and has always been sponsored (paid for) by the Lincoln Valley Chamber of Commerce. Our community's parade, rodeo and fireworks show is...

    Sue Howsmon|Updated May 4, 2022

One look outside or to feel the warming temperatures lets us know that the long, hard winter of 2022 is nearing it's end. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit us more than two years ago life in general has taken many changes and the Lincoln Senior Center is no different. Memberships have dropped over the past few years, due in some cases to the aging of Lincoln and people who are not able to get out and around as they used to. The pandemic had kept people inside and away from...

  • Staying safe in an unsafe world

    Connie McCaffertry|Updated Apr 21, 2022

The world is much more dangerous for children and adults than we often will admit. The statistics are alarming. Eighty three percent of Americans will experience a violent crime in their lifetimes, which includes assault, robbery, murder, home invasion or car jacking.* But we don't want to think of ourselves as victims of crime. We take pride in living in a safe place with neighbors and friends who look out for us. We won't lock our doors or take safety precautions because we...
