Easter Eggstravaganza

Kids had an extra challenge finding the eggs at this years Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt.

When it became clear there was still going to be too much snow at Hooper Park, Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Birkholz contacted Lincoln School Superintendent Carla Anderson about using the school grounds, since it was one of the only places in town that had either been plowed or where things had been packed down enough that kids wouldn't have to wade through the snow. Birkholz said Anderson readily agreed.

"It worked out great" he said.

Lincoln firefighters spent about two hours last Friday night filling about 3000 plastic Easter eggs with candy and prizes, Fire Captain Derek Perez said.

The eggs were scatted about in three different areas around the school, but many of the kids wound up on the playground by the end, since so many of the eggs hidden around the equipment and the mounds of snow remained.
