Brown selected for Lincoln Schools Principal position

The Lincoln School Board approved the selection of Lincoln Schools Industrial Science teacher Shane Brown as the new part-time principal at their April 8 meeting.

The Board acted on the recommendation of the principal selection committee, which included incoming Superintendent Jennifer Packer, school board President Aaron Birkholz and school board member M’Liss Weisner.

After receiving five applications, the committee interviewed three candidates for the job.

Packer said Brown’s experience with the Lincoln education system and as a former athletic director, as well as the fact he has a degree in administration all played into their hiring decision.

“He’s been wanting to get into leadership role and it just was a good fit right now,” she said.

Packer said Brown’s duties haven’t been finalized yet, but she said he will probably be responsible for evaluat-ing the elementary teachers and helping Packer handle Pupil-Instruction Related activities with the teachers.
