Lady Blackhawks of Seeley Lake overwhelm Lady Lynx

26 - 10 was not the score of the Saturday night basketball contest between the Lincoln Lady Lynx and the Seeley Blackhawks. It was instead the comparison of the two team rosters listed on the game night program.

Lincoln's JV/varsity combined team dressed out ten brave Lady Lynx. Seeley didn't even bother to bring their JV to back up the varsity since they had three whole starting fives on the bench and didn't need the younger ladies.

To make matters more dire for the hometown Lynx, Alexis Cannon was home sick for the Saturday night game. Even in the best circumstances, it would be difficult for Lincoln to come out ahead without the reliable six-foot scorer and rebounding star.

The Blackhawks, the 13-C conference leader with a 6-2 record so far this season, is an athletic, quick and well-rounded team. The final score, 24 - 60, showed that even if Cannon had been on the floor, the Lady Lynx would have had their hands full.

Sage Kamps lit up the local crowd with her 14 points, which included three long lobs from beyond the arc. Jenna Templeton added four and freshman dynamo Jessica Zarske posted six offensive scores and an intimidating defense that never seemed to slow down.

Lincoln's next home game opponent is White Sulphur Springs on Friday, Jan. 24 starting at 4:30 p.m.
