Obituary: Gerald "Jerry" Halter

Helena - On the morning of June 12, 2020, Gerald "Jerry" William Halter passed away after a short battle with cancer at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born in Great Falls, Mont. April 25,1939 and was the third child of Lester and Grace Halter. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes and Great Falls Central High, where he was active in sports. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1960. On December 7, 1962, he married E. Antoinette "Toni" Notti and together they raised three daughters and a granddaughter.

Jerry enjoyed playing, umping and later coaching his daughter's softball teams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping with the family and later he took up golfing.

After retiring from Pennington's Inc, he and Toni moved to Helena to be closer to their kids and grandkids.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Toni Notti Halter and their daughters, Jeri Halter, Kristine (Jeffery) Alberta, Erin Halter, Rachael (David) Hansell; his siblings Dorothy Christianson, Harold (Joyce) Halter, Margaret Stewart, Barbara (Jim) Miles; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
