Christmas is Coming to Lincoln

With Christmas fewer than 40 days away, Lincoln is preparing for the holiday season, bringing local art, shopping and activities to town with several events Saturday, Dec. 7.

To get things rolling, The Lincoln Council for the Arts will be hosting Santa's Workshop, now in its' 21st year, between 10 a.m. and noon at Lincoln school. The event offers school-aged students the chance to make gifts for friends and family, along with the opportunity to wrap their presents. The event is coordinated by Jill Frisbee and run by several volunteers. Admission for kids is $5 and food is available.

On the west end of town, Annie Allen's art studio at 3317 Blackfoot Valley Ranch Road will be open from noon to 5 p.m., featuring local artists and their creations for their annual Christmas show. There will be a bonfire and light refreshments throughout the day.

In the center of town, Ann Pryor has once again organized the annual Holiday Craft Bazaar. For more than 20 years, this bazaar has been providing a way for crafters to sell their wares, and for shoppers to purchase handmade gifts. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic Lincoln Community Hall at 404 Main Street.

The Lincoln Library is hosting a decorative plate making class and Christmas cookie recipe exchange from 1-3 p.m. The event is open to all ages and is free of charge. For more information and to reserve your space, please contact the library at 406-362-4300.

On the east end of town, Heritage House & Valler Coffee will be hosting their first big event, A Heritage House Christmas, featuring local artisans and their handcrafted artisan gifts. Located at 129 Sucker Creek Road, they will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Coffee, tea, cider and light refreshments will be served.

In addition to the events and shopping opportunities happening that day, our local businesses will also be open for business. Lincoln has a variety of gift, specialty and antique shops where shoppers can find that extra special gift for the important people in their lives. Several bars, restaurants and shops have gift cards and gift certificates available as well.
