Thank You Santa's Workshop helpers

I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make Santa’s Workshop 2020 a reality for our local kids, and for all of the flexibility around getting the crafts to the kids who would have normally participated in person at the school.

First, a thank you to the Lincoln Council for the Arts for their continued financial support. To Jill Frisbee, who normally puts everything together, for sitting down and meeting with the committee and getting us items to put together in kits for the kids. To volunteers Laura Butler, Kate Radford, Eleanor Pierce and Tiana and Zuzu Valler for putting kits together, and helping get all items bagged and ready for distribution.

I’d also like to thank Rick & Pat Freeland for their generous donations of goodies, hats, scarves, coats and boots for those who came out to pick up their workshop kits, and for the use of the Powerhouse as a central location for everything to be held.

Additionally, a huge thank you to our American Legion Post 9 for their kits for the kids, their warming trailer, complete with snacks and Christmas music, and their volunteers who came out and braved the cold on Saturday: Rick Foreman (who was dressed as Santa), Rich Paul, Dawn Charron, Jim Phennicie, Penny Crandall and Doug Vulcan, along with those who helped put their kits together.

Thank you also to the Blackfoot Valley Optimist Club, the Blackfoot Valley Bible Church, the Lincoln Baptist Church and the Lincoln Library for their donations of pre-made kits for the kids to complete at home, as well as to staff at Lincoln Public School for getting the word out to students to come get the bags, and to everyone who shared the information via social media.

In a year of confusion, a little chaos, and nothing normal, you all helped to make something normal happen for the kids in our community. Your time, energy and dedication are very much appreciated.
