Letter: Gathering concerns: a response

Dear Liz Cain,

Your response to my Christmas letter has just been brought to my attention.

My first reaction was, aren't you glad that we both live in a free society where we can both express divergent, but open and honest viewpoints? (although that perspective seems to be rapidly disappearing in the stampede to flatten the curve and save the planet.

I also believe your letter deserves a response. You took me to task for not following medical guidelines of health care "experts", while you may believe that the "science" is settled in stone, that is actually not the case. There are many world renown scientists and medical professionals who disagree. Worldwide, over 50,000 Epidemiologists, doctors and scientists have signed the Barrington Declaration, expressing their dissent so far, and that number is growing daily. You won't hear them on the mainstream media because what they are saying runs counter to the narrative the left is using to scare us into submission and compliance. Make no mistake about it, COVID-19 is all about politics.

It was Raum Emmanuel who said, "never let a crisis go to waste". While COVID-19 is a real disease, that presents a danger for some people, and can sicken many, the scale of danger to health falls far short of justifying mass panic. The way COVID deaths are calculated is very interesting. It must be the new math or something, because the overall death rate from all causes has not risen. Isn't that interesting? The CDC's "current best estimate" for infection fatality rates for those age 20 to 49 is 0.0002. For age 50-69 it is 0.0005 and for those 70 and older it is 0.054. That means 99.98% of those 20 to 49 will survive, 99.5% for those 50-69 and 94.6% for those 70 and older.

I don't know if you have read Klaus Schwab and Thierry Malleret's book, COVID-19: The Great Reset. I have read it. Klaus Schwab is the founder and leader of the World Economic Forum. These are the same people, who at their seminar Event 201, wargamed the pandemic scenario and had our current COVID protocol ready to distribute to world leaders when the pandemic hit. How lucky is that? Protocols just when you need them. In the book, Schwab emphasizes that the pandemic is not a crisis, but an opportunity to overthrow the existing world order, including our current system of government and replace it with a more egalitarian or more authoritarian world, read world socialism! It will be necessary to rewrite all social contracts, that includes our Constitution. They are meeting in Davos this spring, to work out the details – deplorables need not attend. Schwab is joined by many of the corporate elite, world leaders, the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, Bill Gates, George Soros, Michael Bloomberg and other globalist and socialist oligarchs, whose only hobby is dreaming up new schemes of control and tyranny. Schwab said "COVID is no crisis, it is the final and best opportunity to push us into accepting their global New World Order". Schwab says "COVID-19 is an unprecedented opportunity to reimagine our world, but if in the post pandemic era we decide to resume our lives just as before (by driving the same cars, by flying to the same destinations, by eating the same things, by heating our house the same way, and so on), the COVID-19 crisis will have gone to waste".

Their motto is Build Back Better – oh wait, isn't Biden using that too? Oh yes Liz, it is political.

Now let me take a minute to address your concerns about "gatherings". First of all, it was the Lord Himself who has instructed us to gather during these difficult end time days! "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the day approaching" – Heb. 10:24-25 As a Christian, obedience is the only way I can be certain I am under His umbrella of protection.

Medical professionals and others around the world are now beginning to point out the obvious, that is, the lockdowns are unnecessary and dangerous. In Belgium for example, an open letter signed by nearly 2,000 health care professionals, including 400 doctors, call the lockdowns unjustified and more dangerous than COVID-19. "The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate and causes more damage than it does any good". The letter continues, "we note, however that the collateral damage now being caused to the population will have a greater impact in the short and long term on all sections of the population than the numbers of people now being safe guarded from Corona."

The CDC's Research and Development Survey (RANDS) show that nearly 40 percent of adult Americans had difficulty or were unable to access healthcare services, including urgent care, surgery, screening test, ongoing treatment, regular check-ups, prescriptions, dental, vision and hearing care during the lockdowns. These lockdowns and COVID protocols have devastated our economy and been very destructive to our Constitution and Bill of Rights. The ethical foundation of our nation was expressed by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration. Jefferson noted that all people are created equal and are "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". By forcing people to stay in their homes, not visit their friends and families, limiting their access to goods and services, and destroying the dreams of men and women who spent their life building a business, only to see it crushed, is a tragedy beyond measure. We have witnessed the despots in statehouses, counties and cities literally cancel the "pursuit of happiness". This was noted by none other than Attorney General Bill Barr. In an address to Hillsdale College, Barr said "you know, putting a national lockdown, stay-at-home order, is like house arrest. Other than slavery, which was a different kind of restraint, this is the greatest intrusion on our civil liberties in American history."

Liz, I have given you this information in the hope of maybe allaying your fears and relieving any guilt you might feel about enjoying the company of family and friends next Christmas. I hope you haven't been captured by the old saying "He that is convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still", and as a reminder that freedom is the answer and the American way. If we cave to the pressure and propaganda of the radical left, we will have more to worry about than just Joe Biden's prediction of a dark winter.
