MCT, Lincoln students present 'The Emperor's New Clothes'

After being forced to cancel their visit last year due to COVID-19, the Missoula Children's Theater returned to Lincoln this spring with their production of 'The Emperors New Clothes.'

The play, a lesson in being true to oneself, rather than trying to impress people with expensive clothes, drew 19 kids who took part in the production.

"It's a lot of work but we were lucky to have some kids who were really excited about it and decided to go out and do it," said Danielle Barnett, Lincoln School secretary. "There were some conflicts of schedule with baseball and track, so we had many fewer kids do it this year than typically do it.

She said MCT productions usually include upwards of 40 kids, but they nevertheless pulled it together.

Jonathan Handley, one of the play's directors, said they had a great rehearsal process with the kids. "They had such a blast doing it. We worked every day from 4:15 to 8:30 and they were troopers."
