Pie in the Face

For weeks, the Lincoln School Student Council has been collecting canned and dried goods for a food drive to benefit the Lincoln Food Bank and the Lincoln Senior Center.

As an incentive, each collection box sported the image of a teacher or staff member with each one a potential target for a pie in the face based on the number of donations their box received.

When the food drive drew to a close, more than 1100 items had been donated, and the targets were selected. In third place was the office staff: Superintendent Carla Anderson, Clerk Carol Williams and Secretary Olivia Cameron; Kitchen staff Diane Krier and Alyssa Kirkland took second; and first place went to 2nd grade teacher Makala McDonough.

Student Council advisor April Erickson said kids had a choice of incentives for the food drive: a pizza party, or a pie in the face for staff members. Last year they chose a pizza party. She said this years food drive was far more successful
