Groomer operator Gordy Becker heads back to the Ponderosa Snow Warriors groomer shed after spending the night preparing the snowmobile trails around Lincoln ahead of last Saturday's Fun Run.

"Gordy groomed all night long so we had it all ready for the Fun Run Saturday. We were pretty excited, so our fun run was good," said Snow Warriors Secretary Bonnie Christian. "Everybody had a good ride," she said. "(The weather) didn't stop them from staying out. They stayed out in the middle of the storm."

The groomer had been out of service for repairs after breaking down Jan. 19, about a week before the Snow Warriors First Fun Run of the season. Its absence left the trails around Lincoln ungroomed for a month, and led to the Snow Warriors turning to the Helena Snowdrifters for help in grooming the Race to the Sky trail earlier this month.

Christian said the groomer arrived back in Lincoln Friday, Feb. 22 and she hopes people who may have been put off coming to Lincoln by the lack of grooming will bring their snowmobiles up and enjoy the snow.

The Ponderosa Snow warriors aren't done with events for the year yet. They have their annual scholarship fun run scheduled for Saturday, March 9.
