Ernie and Renee
Just wanted to send out a little Hey Howdy Hey to Mr. Ernie Lundberg.
I was walking my dog Trooper down the street last Thursday or could have been Friday. I can’t remember, but the one thing I do remember is we were walking by the Community Hall and I heard some loud banging coming from the roof of the building. Then I saw Ernie high up on a ladder using a sledgehammer and a shovel to break up the snow and ice off the roof. When I asked him about it, he said in years before the ice would build up on the eves causing the water to back up and leak in and around the stage areas. By breaking the ice up and removing it, it would help water drain more effectively.
Ernie, and his wife Renee, moved to Lincoln in 1995. They both had worked for the Forest Service and retired after 30 years. Ernie is now the president for the Community Hall and Renee is the treasurer. They both work very hard to do what is best for that great little meeting place that is used and loved by many.
I have to say, there aren’t too many times that I don’t see Ernie not driving the ambulance when it’s out on a call. I know he takes much pride and dedication in helping people while volunteering for the ambulance, which he has done for more than six years now. I am sure that there are many other great things that Ernie and Renee do for the community that I don’t even know about, but there is one thing I do know and that is Lincoln is very blessed to have them both here. Thank you, Ernie and Renee for all that you do and God Bless.
