Deputy's Log

Lewis and Clark County 911 Center received eighteen calls for service during the week of May 3, 2020 through May 9th, 2020. Deputies performed one traffic stop in the Lincoln area.

Two calls for service generated case reports last week:

On May 3 deputies responded to a report of an unattended death on the 200 block of Seventh Avenue. There is nothing suspicious about the death at this time, but the investigation is on-going.

A deputy pulled a driver over May 9 for reckless driving around mile marker 69 of Highway 200. A driving under the influence investigation ensued and the male driver was later arrested for DUI. The male was transported to the detention center in Helena without further incident.

Other calls for service in the Lincoln area last week were one 911 hang-up, three non-injury crashes, one citizen assist, one road hazard, one investigative call for service, one trespass and one welfare check completed.

Lincoln Ambulance responded to two medical calls and Lincoln Fire responded to two as well.

I have returned from a long stay-cation and I'm happy to see things moving again in Lincoln. As businesses start to open back up and the weather gets warmer, more drivers are going to be on the public roadways. More pedestrians are going to be out and about on Main Street as well, day and night. Deputies will continue to enforce traffic laws heavily, especially DUIs, on Main Street and other public access roads. If you choose to drink alcohol somewhere besides home, please set up a ride or walk. You will be saving yourself a lot of money and possibly a life.
