Lawrence D. (Duff) Feeback passed away on August 31, 2021, at the age of 96 years.
He was born in Blairstown, Missouri, on Dec. 21, 1924, to Forest and Violet (Vi) Feeback.
Forest and Vi Feeback were life-long residents of west central Missouri eventually settling near La Tour where Forest and Vi farmed and raised beef cattle as well as their family: Duff was the eldest, followed by brother Don and sister Bonnie Hon.
Duff graduated from La Tour High School in 1942 and enlisted in the Navy during WW II where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor after the Japanese attack.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy Duff returned to the farm in La Tour prior to entering college in Warrensburg where he met and married Shirley Jo Lewis from Harrisonville.
After his graduation with a degree in Physics, Duff took a job with National Geophysical as a party chief. In those early years of their marriage, Duff and Shirley lived a nomadic life moving about Montana and the inland west on a geophysics crew.
Eventually settling in Texas, Duff worked for El Paso Natural Gas, Sinclair Oil Company, and finally Pennzoil. Duff retired in the early 1970s and moved back to the family farm in La Tour.
Duff recently relocated to Lincoln, Mont., to his beloved ranch property in the Blackfoot River Valley.
Duff was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don, and his beloved wife Shirley. He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Hon, his children: KD and Teresa Feeback, Derek and Susan Feeback, Danja and Tom Klepper, his grandchildren Abigail Dalton, Cole Feeback, Hayes Feeback and Lilyan Feeback along with five great grandchildren, Ty, Lane, Andrea, Meah and Vivian, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be missed dearly. There will be a memorial gathering the Blackfoot Canyon Ranch at noon on the Fourth of July 2022, to scatter Duff’s ashes.
