Homecoming events planned for week of Oct. 11

A homecoming parade for Lincoln school, featuring floats made by the high school classes, is slated to go through town Monday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. as Lincoln Schools celebrate homecoming week.

In recent years, homecoming parades have been held during the homecoming football games, with floats making a lap around the track at the football field. This year, however, the school decided to move it to main street to help spread school spirit and get local businesses involved.

The week will culminate with a homecoming dance for 9th to 12th grade students Saturday night, Oct. 16.

Homecoming week had originally been planned for this week, but a spate of COVID-19 cases in the school last week prompted a return to remote learning and the rescheduling of football and volleyball games.

Kids returned to in-person learning this week, but the administration said students who have been sick and out of school for three days or more, who test positive for COVID or who are quarantined due to a close contact, can continue to attend classes online.

The week off reshuffled the sports schedule

Lincoln Football took on Heart Butte Sept. 29 and next take on Noxon at home Oct. 4. During homecoming week they take on Power at Home Oct. 11.

The volleyball team takes on Victor at home Oct. 1, followed by a home game against St. Regis Oct. 2 and away games against Drummond Oct. 8 and Valley Christian Oct. 9. During homecoming week they face off against Darby twice, first at an away game Oct. 12, then at home Oct. 14
