Obituary: Sally Ann Woods

Sally Anne Woods was born March 2, 1957 in Santa Rosa, Calif. to Red and Patty Woods.

Graduate of Santa Rosa High School, Class of 1975.

Resident of Lincoln, Mont. for 29 years and an unofficial sister to Laura Nicolai.

Sal embraced a considerable work ethic and enjoyed a career that included a variety of workplaces and locations: office assistant in San Francisco; in Petaluma, Calif. she worked in retail – and loved every minute until she retired. She enjoyed people, especially in areas of customer service: working at the health food store, liquor store; gas station, vet office, Garlands- a local trading post - and Lambkin's in Montana.

She enjoyed visiting the Pacific Ocean at Salmon Creek Beach near her hometown. But her true passion were her mountains and the outdoor life hunting, hiking, snowmobiling and cat tracking in Montana where she lived until her last days.

She claimed faith in our creator and her wolf tribe -she would say instead of "grace" – would raise her glass and say, "Thanks Buddy".

Those that were close to her got many cards and her wonderful words of poetry and prose. She was a friend to so many people far and wide – she -our "hippy chick" is missed every single day.

Siblings: Dave (Karen) of Reno, NV; Sue Stone of Santa Rosa; Chris (Jeri) of Spanaway, Wash.

Niece and Nephews: Miranda Woods (John Casey), Carmichael, Calif .; James Woods (Charlotte), and David Woods (Qona - (double-checking spelling) of Spanaway, Wash .; Joey Stone of Santa Rosa, Calif .; Mac Stone of Georgetown, Texas. Ten grand-nieces/nephews.

Formerly married to Scott Miller of Thompson Falls, Mont.

Predeceased by grandparents Edd and Aspazie Woods (Louisiana); Bill and Thelma Lewis Bushnell of (Santa Rosa); parents Red and Patty (Santa Rosa); uncles Robert De Woods (LA) and Bill Bushnell (CO); brother-in-law, Mark A. Stone (Santa Rosa).

In lieu of flowers, Sal requested that any donations be made to support the volunteer EMT service in Lincoln, Mont.

We will be having an informal wake at her home this summer and will let everyone know via the paper, the post office board and texts from her phone.
