The Lady Lynx season thus far

The Lincoln Lady Lynx Basketball team heads into Christmas break with a record of two wins and four losses.

The team started off with a solid showing at the Tip Off Tournament in Hamilton with a narrow two-point 25-27 loss to Noxon, followed by a 36-30 win over the Two Eagle River Eagles.

Lincoln's home opener saw the Lady Lynx overwhelmed by the Drummond Lady Trojans Friday evening Dec. 9. The tall lady Trojan team came out strong against the Lady Lynx, racking up 20 points in the first quarter alone, while preventing Lincoln from scoring a point. The Lincoln ladies kept fighting but remained outmatched by the Drummond team throughout the game, ending the night with a 10-49 loss.

The following day the Lady Lynx took on the Granite Prospectors in Lincoln, but again faced defeat as Granite scored in double digits in the first three quarters, while Lincoln's score stayed in single digits in each quarter. The Lady Lynx ended the game taking a 19-71 drubbing at the hands of the Lady Prospectors.

On Dec. 13, the Lincoln ladies turned their fortunes around as they took on Alberton in front of the hometown crowd. In an inversion of the previous games, the Lady Lynx scored 16 in the first quarter while keeping the Lady Panthers from sinking a single basket. The ladies kept a strong lead throughout the remaining three quarters, ending the game with a convincing 54-15 win.

Unfortunately for the Lady Lynx, their fortunes took a turn for the worse as they traveled to Seeley Lake Dec. 16, where they fell to the Lady Blackhawks 11-57.

The Lady Lynx return to the hardwood Jan. 5 with an away game to take on White Sulphur Springs, before returning home Jan. 6 and facing off against Darby.
