Erosion Repair West Of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal to repair erosion that has occurred on the Blackfoot Riverbank next to Montana Highway 200 (MT 200), located about three miles west of Lincoln. The project is located 500 feet south of the intersection with Lone Point Drive, halfway between mile markers 67 and 68.

The purpose of the project is to restore and stabilize the riverbank to protect the roadway.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2026 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. Right-of-way acquisition or temporary construction permits will likely be required for this project. Relocation of utilities may also be necessary. MDT staff will contact affected landowners prior to survey work. Landowners may be contacted again prior to construction regarding temporary permits.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at http://www.mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Great Falls office, PO Box 1359, Great Falls, MT 59403-1359. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10306000.\

The public is encouraged to contact Great Falls District Preconstruction Engineer James Combs at 406-454-5900 or Project Design Engineer Chris Ward at 406-454-5894 with questions or comments about the project.
