Obituary: Connie Guegold

A talented self-taught chainsaw artist, free hand drawer, watercolor painter, and skilled woodworker was always learning new skills and forever blessing us with beautiful art for all to enjoy. She had her own personal chainsaw art display at the bottom of her property and donated many pieces to Lincoln and close friends. Connie, 67, of Lincoln, Montana, rejoined her dad Calvin, peacefully in her Montana home on Oct. 27, 2023.

Connie was born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1956 to Calvin and Alice Miller, who faithfully celebrated all holidays cheerfully together growing up. Connie attended Ontario High School where she met her husband of 49 years Roland Guegold who she raised 3 amazing children with and cared for her farm in Ontario, Ohio. Connie had a love of horses from childhood, purchasing her first one at 15 and continuing to raise and train them for most of her life, specifically her favorite grey dapple Arabian Rabi. When her children grew up, she traded her love of horses with riding her Harley across the country with Roland and traveling. One particular western United States motorcycle trip is where she fell in love with Montana. She knew then, that's where she wanted to live out the remainder of her life. It is where she felt "at home."

Connie met the love of her life, Roland Guegold in high school. Roland saw Connie getting on the school bus her first day and he turned to his friend Bobby and said "I'm gonna marry that girl."

Excited to start their new lives together, the two mowed lawns their senior year to save enough money to buy their wedding rings and shortly after Connie turned eighteen, they were married in

Ontario, Ohio March 9, 1973. 

Connie and Roland were living the dream, traveling and four wheeling when they were pleasantly surprised by their first child Gabrielle, followed shortly by Candace and Damian. Connie was a proud stay at home mom, raising her children and caring for her farm and garden. Connie loved her children; they were the joy and pride of her life.

Though she loved cooking and the outdoors, one of Connie's favorite roles was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their "Grandma," never

failing to take an opportunity to craft or write letters and text, keeping in touch with them often. She uniquely crafted individual quilts for each grandchild. She is survived by eleven grandchildren

Dylon, Mekhi, Indago and Gabe Feagin, Kagan Smith, Emma and Lily Miller and Cameron, Saige, Mikaela and Adleigh Guegold and one great grandson Azariah. She will be remembered fondly for always ensuring their bellies were full with delicious home cooking and spoiling them with one of her favorite treats, ice cream, every chance she got.

Connie had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating her shelties like the valuable family members they were. Sammy and Sissy were her beloved daughters, she walked them around the block and hand crafted their meals daily.

If you knew Connie, you knew that if she was your friend then you were part of her family. She had many people she considered sisters, brothers, and children. She hosted several lavish Halloween parties in her younger years at the farm in Ontario that I'm sure her friends remember well. She was an amazing hostess. More recently she had crafted several personalized chainsaw art carvings in Montana. Connie was a loyal friend; an amazing listener and her compassionate spirit will be remembered always.

Everyone who knew Connie knew how much she loved chainsaw art, woodworking, and life. From her early days at the craft show making napkin holders and "My Little Pony Themed" 4-foot tall rocking horses to her intricate knitted doilies and personalized Chainsaw pieces. Connie was a talented artist at heart, always looking to learn more and expand her collection to share with all.

Connie will always be remembered for her many talents and the way that she always put her entire heart into everything she did. We'll always imagine hearing her say "Love you more" one more time. We couldn't have asked for a better Daughter, Wife, Mother, or Sister, and will miss Connie every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Connie was preceded in death by her dad, Calvin Miller, and is survived by her mom, Alice Miller, children: Gabrielle Guegold, Candace (Mike) Miller. Damian (Kari) Guegold, and siblings: Larry Miller, Ronda (Steve) Noble and Kevin (Colleen) Miller.

No public memorial is being held at this time.  Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
