Photos taken two days apart show the effect the rainstorm that hit the area on the night of May 9 had on Lincoln Gulch Road. The May 8 photo (left) shows erosion beginning to wear away the road in the same area that washed out in 2011. Floodwaters swollen by rain completely washed out the road and the culvert. .
The Moose Creek Campground on Nevada Ogden Road sits under several inches of water Saturday May 12. The flooding Blackfoot River swamped the campground and washed out the road between Highway 200 and the river bridge.

A pond near Ovando overflows the road south of town. Although Ovando has remained,may of the potholes between there an Helmville are filled with water and both the mainstream of tehBlackfoot and the North Fork are filled with mud and debris.
Recent high water in the Lincoln area impacted several parts of the valley as low and mid elevation snows melted, swelling the Blackfoot River and the many creeks in the area that feed into it.
The recent flooding has prompted the Fores Service to close Sucker Creek rad at the trailhead north of town, as well as Nevada Ogden road in the canyon, where flooding from the Blackfoot River has swamped the Moose Creek Campground and washed out the road. Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks has also limited access to several fishing access sites, including Harry Morgan south of Ovando and Monture Creek. According to and FWP Press Release, rivers in west central Montana include hazards such as heavy currents, extremely cold water, rapidly changing water levels and a heavy debris load that is oft hidden under the surface of the muddy waters.
