Local Artists plan for upcoming Tour of the Arts

A group of local artists met last week to discuss preparations for the upcoming Alpine Artisans Tour of the Arts. Now in its 16th year, the Tour of the Arts features six studios, two historical museums, and more than twenty-five artists demonstrating and showing their work in the Seeley Swan and Blackfoot Valleys.

Artist Annie Allen has been participating in the Tour for several years and has joined with other local artists to be part of the festivities. This year, artists Sally Bogaert, Lisa Gibson, Tammy Jordan, and Trudi Skari join Allen with displays of their work ranging from paintings, jewelry, pottery, and fiber art.

Their work will be on display, to view and purchase, at Allen's Montana Studio at 3317 Blackfoot Valley Ranch Road in Lincoln on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

As the holidays approach, Tour of the Arts provides a chance to purchase local handmade art as gifts and talk with the artists directly about their work. In addition, Allen's art students will also have a display of their work for viewing that weekend.

While the display of art has previously been held at the Lincoln Community Hall, the artists are looking forward to having the event at Allen's studio on her property. This year there will be refreshments and a bonfire to keep warm throughout the day and the artists are looking forward to seeing you there.
