Blackfoot River Chapter of Ducks Unlimited begins planning for 21st Annual Banquet

Co-Chairs Renee and Ernie Lundberg and the volunteer committee of the Blackfoot River Ducks Unlimited Chapter began planning for the upcoming 21st Annual Banquet, slated for Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the historic Lincoln Community Hall.

The committee would like to invite the community to enjoy an evening of dining and fun while supporting wetland conservation and hunting opportunities.

The banquet will feature a catered dinner, no-host bar, silent and live auctions, raffles and numerous games, including some new twists on old favorites. Some of the prizes include guns, decoys, wildlife art, baskets, home décor and much more from local merchants, artists and community members.

While Ducks Unlimited has accomplished a great deal since its founding in 1937, continued draining of the nation's wetlands necessitates more work by the organization. The Blackfoot River banquet's fund raising event enables Ducks Unlimited to enhance and restore wetlands in Montana and throughout North America, and it brings out of town folks to the community.

Some local areas that have benefitted from the banquet's efforts in the past include the Blackfoot Waterfowl Production Area, the Blackfoot-Clearwater Wildlife Management Area, Kleinschmidt Lake/Geary Ranch, Bandy Ranch, Foote Ranch, H2-O Ranch, the Aunt Molly WMA and Donny Lake.

Attendees are encouraged to register early with payment by Friday, April 10 to be entered into the Early Bird Gun Registration Drawing. Register by contacting Linda Daugherty at 406-362-4102. Tickets are $55 for a single, $75 per couple and $20 for youth. That includes the banquet dinner and a one-year membership to Ducks Unlimited.

The committee will be reaching out to local merchants, artists and the Lincoln community for donations, possible sponsorships and underwriting for the event as in the past. Additionally, volunteers are still needed to help with planning the event, as well as during the evening of the banquet. If you are interested in volunteering, donating any items or would like more information about the event, please contact Chapter Co-Chairs, Ernie and Renee Lundberg at 406-362-4072 or by email at [email protected].
