Summer events focus of March LVCC meeting

The Lincoln Valley Chamber of Commerce met Thursday, March 12 to discuss several upcoming events. It was the first meeting with the new full board present.

Major topics discussed at the meeting included the upcoming 4th of July Festivities and the Lincoln Bike Rally.

The Tenacious Dames came to the meeting to discuss their plans for the upcoming Lincoln Bike Rally planned for the weekend of July 10-12. Currently, they have Hell’s Belles scheduled to perform in the baseball fields at Hooper Park on Friday evening a Poker Run for Saturday, and on Sunday, a Biker Breakfast - something that has to be done by the community or a local organization – and the Bike Rodeo. The location of the bike rodeo hasn’t been finalized yet and is pending discussions with the Lincoln Rodeo Club. They would like to encourage area bars and local businesses to plan and host their own events and entertainment for Saturday evening, as rally-goers will still be in town.

“We’d really like to see the area businesses step-up and support the event. We do all of the planning and bring everyone here and the businesses reap the rewards. It’s time for them to be more proactive and engaging in the event,” said Tina Bundtrock of the Tenacious Dames.

This year, main registration, silent auction and the rally’s home base will be at the Lincoln Community Hall. Silent auction donations are welcome and those interested in helping, hosting a vendor, etc. , are encouraged to contact directly via cell 406-564-7424 or email [email protected].

Flyers are also available for distribution through Bundtrock. To get the latest information and stay up to date with all of the planned festivities, visit their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/lincolnbikerally/.

Money raised from the Bike Rally will go to benefit the afterschool program at the school as they did last year.

The board also discussed the upcoming 4th of July festivities, including the parade and fireworks. Signage to keep the parade compliant with Montana State Highway ordinances is in the works, and Jesse Sallin is working on the parade details, which will be announced at future meetings.

In addition, the cost of fireworks this year are expected to be higher than normal due to their origin in China and the impact of the COVID-19 virus. The Chamber is planning to have their canisters in local businesses again to help offset costs.

If you are interested in sponsoring some of the firework costs or making a donation toward them, please contact the Chamber via email at: [email protected].

The next Chamber meeting is scheduled for April 9 at 5:30 p.m. Watch for an announcement of the meeting location, since the Library Community Room will be unavailable due to the Library closure until April 13.
